About Me always on top

    Hi,
    My wordpress log is http://sotsil.wordpress.com. I have so far published 2 posts: about me and rice cakes. I want the about me to be the first to appear all the time and the future ones below it. How do I do that so that About Me is the first thing that people see without me having to change the publish date all the time?
    Should I just add a page if that’s the way I want it instead of doing a new post all the time?
    Thanks.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    You could make the about me a sticky post, but it’s rather long, and in my opinion, readers won’t want to look at it every time they visit your blog—an about me page would be more attractive (IMNSHO).
    anyway, read about sticky posts here:

    Yes, one way is to turn that into a page instead of a post. Another way is to turn it into a “Sticky” post: post editor > Visibility module > tick “Stick this post to the front page” > click OK > click Update Post.

    good afternoon, Panos!

    Thank you1tess and panaghiotisadam, I appreciate your assistance. So here’s the next stupid question: can I make my about me just a page with the visibility module. I don’t see the visibility module, duh. let me hunt down for it, if I don’t find it, I’ll come back. my theme is fadtastik and there’s an “ABOUT” on the right side column that I can’t manipulate.

    No, no stupid questions if you don’t know the answers. Only sometimes, stupid answers…(and I hope this will help) Fadtastic is an unusual theme that I don’t know a lot about except from looking at it a few times in my test blog—I’m not sure what the “ABOUT” in the far right column actually is? (or what that whole right column is?)

    But do not use the link re: visibility (sticky posts) that I gave you.
    You can make a new page. A page is sort of like a post, but better for showing information that does not change.
    Read this:
    http://support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

    In the dashboard where you go to write a post, there is a vertical menu on the left side of your screen. Choose the icon that looks like a small stack of pages, labeled “pages.” Make a new page. Write your about-me information there. save and publish. It will show up with the navigation tabs on top of your blog for anytime your readers want to know about you. Plus your fresh new posts will be visible when your readers visit your blog to see the latest article you have.

    @sotsil: In other words, go to the post editor for that post, switch to html, copy the whole thing and paste it in the page you will create.

    @Tess: That “About” in Fadtastic is the tagline.

    @panos, Thanks. That’s confusing, I think: looks like a widget…
