About META
-
On the right side of the screen of my blog under Blogroll, there is “category” META. And under it words:Login, Valid XHTML, XFN, WordPress. Why do I need it for all to see? Should it be removed? If Yes, the How?

It’s a widget and you do not have to have it showing. Go to presentation > widgets and drag the meta widget from the upper panel down to the top of the available widgets panel and let go. Then click save changes.

It is just the information to show users that your page uses proper markup, gives you a link to your admin area or the link to login and some love back to wordpress.
If you have a wordpress.com blog, you go to your Admin => Presentation => Widgets and then drag the “meta” widget to the bottom with the other unused widgets.
If you have a blog hosted elsewhere, you may need to head over to http://wordpress.org/support/ and get help there as we only work with wordpress.com hosted blogs!
