About page

The word About, which is above my heading, (when clicked on) does not take me to my About page. Instead it takes me to a working page.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@aspieboy123
I want you to stop trying to engage me in conversation in technical support forums threads.I want you to stop posting into any thread unless you are posting for technical support.
I want you to stop not hijacking threads that others post here. Every time we post into any support forum thread that moves the datestamps forward in time, which means it takes longer for the person who started the thread to get the help they need.
This is a technical support forum where we deal only with WordPress.com support issues. Our technical support forums cannot be used as bulletin boards for blog promotion, business promotion, introduction or discussion purposes. Please respect our policy and promote your blog in social networks.

@eta712whiteoakcottage
I apologize for your thread being taken off course. Please know I have not forgotten your issue. -
No problem! I appreciate your help. I read all the links you sent me. Maybe I’m phrasing my question the wrong way. I already wrote my About page for blogging 101. I don’t want to edit the page, I want it to open when the link above my header is clicked on.
Thank-you :)

As you have created another About page http://whiteoakcottagedotcom.wordpress.com/2014/10/23/about-2/ you have to create a custom menu and include only the one that you created in it. See here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ -
Hi Timethief,
I created the menu and it does show up under my heading. However, when I click on the About word, I’m still not seeing my About page.
-
This is the URL of the About page that is supplied by the theme and which appears currently at the top. http://whiteoakcottagedotcom.wordpress.com/about/
You did not edit that About page and did not delete it.
This is the URL for the About page that you created. Look closely at the URL and note the “2” at the end of it.
http://whiteoakcottagedotcom.wordpress.com/2014/10/23/about-2/That’s the Page at http://whiteoakcottagedotcom.wordpress.com/2014/10/23/about-2/ you need to include in the custom menu.
The other one has now become baggage so don’t include it.

One more question ;)
When I scrolled through my posts my About page is also there.
Should I edit it and delete it (trash it)? -
Oh FRAP!
This is a post http://whiteoakcottagedotcom.wordpress.com/2014/10/23/about-2/
and I was not watching closely because a page URL does not contain the date. I humbly apologize for being so stupid.You need to edit the About page at http://whiteoakcottagedotcom.wordpress.com/about and copy and paste that content in the post and then delete the post.
Go to Dashboard > Pages > All Pages and hover over the title of the About page. Then click the edit link and paste the content form the post into it. Then click update.
Go to Dashboard > Posts > All Posts and hover over the title of the post. Click the Trash link.
I am so sorry I made this mistake.

No problem, I think it’s wonderful WordPress has support people!!
I did it! Yay!
Thank-you :)

I’m still embarrassed about my mistake and so happy that =you have straightened this out now. Very best wishes for happy blogging. :)
