Hi there,
What’s the website URL?
How are you sharing it?
Here are a couple of pages that may be helpful.

Hi @chrisscribe,
Are you trying to share a page/post to social media, and an undesired image is showing up? If yes, please keep in mind that Facebook, Twitter, etc. will automatically select the most appropriate image to use in the share.
If you would like to customize which image is used, I suggest setting a featured image.
Hope that helps.

Hi Both,
Yes it is an indesired picture in the the thumbnail. I have deleted it and changed it however it is STILL showing as the old/deleted featured image and its been 48 hours that I’ve changed it – I am trying to share it on Twitter.
Thanks

Hi there,
What is the URL of the thumbnail? If you have deleted it from your media library and it is still showing up, I can purge it for you. Thanks!

The image that is still showing up is a picture of the eyes of a woman, but I want it to be my main site icon if that makes sense. Thanks

Hi there,
The image that’s included when you share a link from your site on social media depends on the specific link that’s shared. That’s because there’s a hierarchy here: If a post/page has a featured image set, that’s the one we’ll suggest to to the social media service. If there’s no featured image, we’ll look for a useable image in the content of the post page, and only if there’s no useable image in the content either, will we suggest the site icon.
In the case of your front page, https://thecassiememoirs.wordpress.com/, the image we’re specifying in the HTML headers for other sites to use is https://thecassiememoirs.files.wordpress.com/2021/01/colorful-summer-sale-instagram-post-1.png, the one image appearing in the front page content.
If you want to use the image set as your site icon, https://thecassiememoirs.files.wordpress.com/2021/01/cropped-1-2.png, instead, you’ll need to remove the other image from the page content.
However, note that even if you change the image, it might not change when you re-share the link to social media. This is because services like Twitter only checks for the image the first time you share a particular link, and they then cache the image so the next time someone shares the same link, they just use the image they already have instead of checking the site for the image again.
To force Twitter to check your site for a new image, you need to clear their cache for your site. You can do that by pasting your URL into the page at https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator and clicking the Preview button.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
