'About' page problem

  I have created a new ‘About’ page but can’t get it to appear on my blog (the free sort). I went to ‘menus’ and deleted the default one, wrongly assuming my new one would replace it. Any help very welcome!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  You can edit your menu to add the About page (or any other page) from here: wordpress.com/menus

  Click a + to add a menu item, then find the Page you want to add, and save.

  Thank for taking the trouble to reply – I really appreciate it. However, I am still stuck and feeling very stupid. (I tried the link you sent but I couldn’t really follow it). So I will try to describe what I am doing in the hope you can spot my mistake – if you lose the will to live I will understand!!

  I go to menus and click + next to About, and then get this:

  PRIMARY
  Home
  Add menu item above
  About
  Add menu item below
  Add children’s item below
  Contact

  I press on the “Add item below”
  I get a typing bar with the words “New Item” in it. Below this I also get a list: “home”, “about”, “contact”, and “create a new page for this menu item”

  If I type “About” in the typing bar (and then press “Add item”) it creates an About item on the menus list, but nothing changes on the site. If I chose “About” from the lower list it does the same. If I chose “create a new page for this item” the type bar then invites me to “Enter Page Name” (which sounds hopeful) – well the name of the page I created is “About” so I type that in and, again, the same thing happens.

  Nothing takes me through to my newly created (and supposedly published) “About” page.

  If you are still reading this, what am I doing wrong? Any other help very gratefully received!

  There is nothing to click on that will take me though to my page. (If I go to “Pages” it shows up there as Published yesterday, but it doesn’t show on the blog.)
