“About” permalink defaults to “about-2,” not “about”!!

  Hey guys. I’m trying to make the permalink for my “About” page be “jiegel.com/about.” I had a long-deleted iteration of this page, and now it won’t let me get anything better than “about-2.” Does anyone know how i can go about deleting unused, annoying directories? Please help!

  Hi there, if you can find the old page in the trash, restore it and then simply update or replace the contents…

  If you can’t restore it, you’ll have to either deal with it or ask for staff intervention. It’s certainly not something they do on a routine basis: in fact, in nearly 5 years here, the only time I’ve known it to happen was once on my own blog.
