About personal account plan

    I decided to start blogging and chose personal plan since I thought that free plan will have my blog name and WordPress.com.
    However, as I was choosing domain name I realized that WordPress only offered either free or premium plans. Where does personal fits into this?
    Finally I managed to find personal option only to see that it is same as free plan with same WordPress.com ending.
    What is going on?
    Can someone explain to me what’s the difference between free and personal plans because I don’t see any difference especially since the name will be the same.

    Hi there,

    You can see the differences between the free and Personal upgrade plan in this chart. https://wordpress.com/pricing/ All upgrade plans are purchased a year at a time, in advance, and all upgrade plans include either registering a custom domain or mapping a domain you already own.

    If you want to purchase the Personal plan with a custom domain name, purchase the upgrade plan first before trying to register a custom domain.
