About pointing folks to the FAQ blog

Putting on my moderator hat here:

Please don’t send folks to the FAQ in general willy nilly. A lot of these posts I’m seeing when folks are sent there are not covered in the FAQ. This just creates confusion for the person asking the question and gives the impression that you’re just blowing them off.

If you’re going to point someone to the FAQ, please point them to a specific article at the FAQ or, if you’re pointing them to the sticky, point them to the question that gives their answer.

    Thanks,
    -drmike

    There’s a FAQ?

    Gee, I didn’t know that…

Next you’re gonna tell me there’s a search function too…

    ;)

Agreed which is why I kind of bugged Podz to get staff to put links for the FAQ and the forums into the welcoming email but I think we’re overdoing it a bit much lately.

Now if we could just get Matt to fix the search box over at the WPMU site, I know I’d be happy. For some reason, it points at the WP.org site.
