edit my About section
The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased any upgrades for it go to Dashboard > Pages > All Pages and hover over the title of the Page, then click the Edit link.
For editing pages see https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/#edit-a-page
To locate draft PAGES Dashboard > Pages> All Pages > Drafts

re: author byline and author profiles
The point of displaying an author name is to differentiate the posts on a multi-author site. Many themes don’t display the author byline unless there is more than one official user on the site. See here https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#author
Regardless of the theme, and provided the theme is designed to display an author, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors, who both have at least one published post in the blog.
Very few themes have an author profile with a gravatar that displays below every post. The data is derived from here > Dashboard > Users > My Profile > About You (section) and anything you add there appears on your Gravatar profile page as well.
If the author profile does not appear on the live demo site for your theme then it is not a feature provided by that theme.
Every theme has a detailed theme description page and this one is at https://wordpress.com/themes/twentytwelve/ That’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://twentytwelvedemo.wordpress.com/

A wordpress.com account and a gravatar account are one in the same thing. Read all about that here: Why Does Gravatar Say I Already Have an Account? http://en.gravatar.com/support/existing-account/
You can use one gravatar image for each username account. It will apply to all sites referred under the same username account. And, the Gravatar help link is http://en.gravatar.com/support/
If you did this How to Make Your Gravatar Profile Private then you can undo what you did http://en.gravatar.com/support/profile-privacy/
Gravatar/blavatar (favicon) images do not show up instantly after uploading them. Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change. The accepted file types are:
.jpg/.jpeg
.gif
.pngFor best practices for uploading gravatars, avatars and blavatars scroll down to below the video here: http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2010/01/24/gravatar-avatar-blavatar/
Dashboard → Settings → General
* Replace “http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG” below with the actual name of your blog in the URL
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
Do not keep uploading!
Do not forget to select an image rating.
Know that other bloggers can choose not to display any “erotic” gravatar’s on their site.See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/To enable Gravatar display and hovercard display on your blog go to Dashboard > Settings > Discussion and scroll way done the page to “Avatars”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/gravatar-hovercards/
