About stats in dashboard
-
Probably someone else asked about that already. But there are just too many posts, so excuse me if so. Here is my question:
Are the stats in in the dashboard correct and if yes, then why this happens: the graph today shows me that my blog has 248 visits. But visits through Referrers are only 18!??? And that is not all – the number of views of Top Posts & Pages is neither 248, nor 18. Check these pics:

http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/3253/20767673hb2.gifHow can I check WHY the visits of my blog doubled today, namely by checking the REAL number of incoming views from a particular referrer?
Why when I entered 3 outer counters in the blog, one of which is statcounter.com, all of them are unable to catch info about the referrers?
Thank you in anticipation!

Well, doing a forum search will usually find you answers if they’re already here.
NO two stats programs will agree; they count different things. There is no absolute number. WP.com for instance counts the number of times people have loaded “Angela” the little smiley while looking at your blog. Other stat programs count different things.
And sure, low referrers relative to overall hits is perfectly normal. The total of hits on Top Posts will be lower (MUCH lower) than the total number of hits, because most people on your blog are going to your blog as a whole, not any individual post. When they look at the blog as a whole, that’s one hit. Period. No matter how many posts you have on the front page.

Then what the graph shows and which is the true number of visitors on my page? The one showed on the graph, or the one showed in the referrer table? And where are direct hits counted; where can I see their number?
-
There is no absolute way to find the true number of visitors to your blog. The most correct total is the one in the graph.

That is what I asked. I know there is no absolute way, but I wanted to know where should I look.
Then, according to the screenshots I applied, there is no particular source for the incoming visitors this day I have marked with red? I mean that if the referrer table is correct, the people who came in my block in exactly that day are just direct visitors who decided coincidently to open the blog in the same day? :)
