“About” tab – HALP! LOL

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello, my eyes are totally crossing from reading the FAQ and going through the forums.

    First – my blog address is nicemelons.wordpress.com
    Second – I use the theme chaoticsoul with a customized header

    I can’t seem to get my “About” tab to display on my blog. I’ve gone to Manage/ Pages and the status is published. It isn’t in a POST, it is in a PAGE. There isn’t a page password. Comments and Pings are allowed. Under Page Parent, it is listed as the main page. Page Template is Default. Page slug is about. Page Author is Nice Melons. Page Order is 0.

    I can’t see a tab for it when I view the site when I’m logged on OR off. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Could someone point me in the right direction? I’d really appreciate it.

    Sheila

    Most themes don’t have an About page. You need to write one, and the time/datestamp needs to be in the past.

    @sheila:
    I don’t think Chaotic Soul uses tabbed navigation for its pages. What you need to do is either add the “Pages” widget to your sidebar, or use a text widget and put a link to your About page in there.

    You can take a look at my blog to see how i did the About link in a text widget, if you like. Just click my username.

    Thanks everyone. I’ll try the widget method (that sounds kinda funny). Now if I can just figure out the widget thing… back to the FAQs… *grin*

    Thanks again!
