About the autosave
-
I really don’t like the current implementation of auto-save. I am a casual writer and sometimes open the editing page and only write a few lines. After some time when I have new ideas or time, I will continue to write in the same page (that’s to say the editor page is not closed all the time).
The current auto-save stops functioning if during the break the network is down or changed. This might be inevitable. Sometimes I didn’t notice that and continued writing. When I clicked publish button, everything I have written is gone (maybe the original session was expired or I need to log in again).
Why won’t the editor be frozen if it can’t send auto-saves to the server? This will forbid further editing and avoid unnecessary unhappiness. It’s not a big deal to write a few lines of javascript.

This is not to take away from your suggestion; it’s to offer a solution. If you use an offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer or Ecto you have a backup on your own computer of every post or page you compose in it and publish to your blog from it.
