About the Options for creating new posts
-
So I use the site to write all my blog posts, and I don’t like the simple post editor I get when I’m not directly in my dashboard. I don’t get to select articals, automatic tags or many of my favourite features in the traditional editor. There are a few different possible way to fix this.
An option to direct me directly to the dashboard editor when I click new posts.
A link within the simple editor to let me go there, with everything I’ve already written.
Or, directly altering the option displayed to contain everything the traditional editor does. -
Here’s another vote for an option to get to the “real” editor from those various “new post” links. The full editor is the only one I can use productively.
-
and can we please have the suggested images and links back? I really miss being able to share other blogs with related content to those who view my blog
-
the suggested images was part of zemanta which no longer exists in the wordpress.com dashboard, you can get a plugin or extension for your browser straight from zemanta to get that feature back!
-
Never, EVER use the New Post button. It does not appear to kick in the autosave and we get ceaseless complaints about lost posts because people have used it.
If you want the full functionality, use the dashboard.
-
Sounds like a good move might be to get rid of the “New Post” button and reduce the complaints.
-
The new post button is there because there is a mobile and tablet explosion going on. Those who consider posting a quick quote, image of what they ate for lunch, etc. and changing what a blog is. I’m with raincoaster I never ever use the new post function here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/
I always create my posts on the dashboard of my own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add NewAs everyone of us can do that too there’s nothing to complain about.

Following up on gregurbano1’s comment above re: http://www.zemanta.com/blog/related-posts-for-bloggers/
WordPress.com has done as much replacement as they intend to do. Note that WordPress.com’s related posts system will automatically place text links to three related posts from your own blog below the Likes sections of your post. And, Zemanta can be easily re-installed via the browser extension. http://www.zemanta.com/download/
