About to Give Up

    I have successfully blogged in the past using this platform. However, I only use it when travelling, so there are large gaps between the times during which I am active, and to some extent, I have to re-familiarize each time. Well, over the past two days I have spent probably 2-3 hours trying to set up a new trip blog and I am massively frustrated. My specific issues are with the Appearance (Customization and Theme). I cannot a header with an image or even any opportunity to apply one. I can see from my other (previous) blogs, such as germanyandpolandseptember2017.wordpress.com, that even now, if I open the blog and click on Design > Customize, it opens a list with options including Color & Backgrounds, Header Image, etc. When I do this in the site I am trying to set up now, a much shorter list of options (just 4) appears and it doesn’t include these ones. This happens whatever theme I apply. I’m about to give up, but I am so disappointed about my failure to create a blog for the trip I am about to depart on. Sigh.

    Follow-up (from original poster): the above is my WordPress site but not the specific blog that I need help with. The blog that I am about to give up on is https://northernlightsandsights.travel.blog/. I’ve launched it, but as anyone can see, there is nothing there yet, due to my failures in setting it up. I just cannot figure out why I am having so much trouble.

    Sorry . . . another follow-up . . . all I get is a generic image that I didn’t select and can’t seem to change. This happened even after I deleted my first try and tried fresh with a new site address and everything.

    And finally . . . I was able to remove the generic image. And there is an image that I would like to use in my Media library. But no functionality allowing me to add it. I am so boggled. I know I am inexperienced but I am not completely inept. I have created header images etc. before.
