“About to Navigate Away” message & Formatting Issue

Problem 1
I’ve got to problemsI am getting really annoyed with the new Post Editor. When I want to make a change to text (like text color; format; centering), I constantly get a pop-up message telling me: “You are about to navigate away from this page. All changes will be lost. Do You want to navigate away?” I can’t just ignore the pop-up; I must press “OK” or “Cancel”. It doesn’t matter which one I press. They have the same effect – I stay on my draft, and I continue working until I have to format text again. (I usually just press “Cancel”.)Problem 2
Even when I deal with the annoying “Navigate Away” problem, I have another problem. This one deals with changing the text format from Paragraph to Heading 2 or any other format. Here’s the sequence of the problem.
A. I always put a Heading 2 head at the top of my post.
B. I type my text; highlight it; and try to select Heading 2 from the drop-down.
C. Deal with the “Navigate Away” problem just described.
D. Select Heading 2; fine – that particular line is great.
E. Now, if I want to come back to add to that line – not fine. The Editor won’t let me change it to match my previous text.I’m annoyed; I’m annoyed; I’m annoyed.
Before anybody asks:
1. I deleted all my cookies.
2. I did a forced refresh.
3. I logged out, and back in.This has been going on since Friday (of course). I’ve mentioned it in a e-mail to tech support, but I’ve not gotten a response.
Any ideas?

What browser and version are you using?
I know it’s buggy and staff are working on it; they’re aware of both these errors. For the second one, I have a workaround.
Click to the Code editor instead of the Visual one and just add the text in between the end of your existing text and the start of the closing tag <. Then all the text you add will be in the header style. It’s not perfect but it WILL work.

Raincoaster,
Thank you for responding. I am using IE 7.0.
Thank you very much for the Work-Around suggestion. I will certainly use it.

I used to use IE6 and would get that “about to navigate away” error all the time. To prevent it, I highlighted and copied all the contents of the post box before pressing whatever button it was that I was going to press. With the contents still highlighted, I hit the button and usually I didn’t get that pop-up warning. Try that. It may not still work, but at least you’ve got everything copied in case of emergency.
