  We have an about us page.. where we have picture and some words.

  I feel like it’s too much for just one page.

  Is there another effective way to do this

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes you can create pages under the names of each team member first. Then create a custom menu, add the pages to it, and create a hierarchical structure of sub-pages.

  Create a custom menu http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
  Add the pages into it http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-pages
  Order pages as required http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menus

  What do you mean by that? You can have one long page or copy and paste the content into multiple pages and display them in a drop-down menu from a main page. In a custom menu you can include any items you want to include and order their display in the manner you want them to be displayed.
