  Hello, heres my question: is it possible for articles to be automatically abridged after a certain length & a link inserted for the remainer of the article?

  Some of my posts are long w/images, and i would like for them not to take so much space on the main page..

  Essentially I am wondering if there is a way for my posts to be compressed to about 1 paragraph, with an option for someone to click on a link to read the rest?

  (I am especially interested in this because I am considering the DePosto Masthead theme)

  Search the FAQ for the more tag :)

  And also the next page tag.

  thanks so much to both of you…it will help clean up my home page..although i’ve read it might create some formatting errors after the fact…

  The formatting errors from the more tag are easily corrected/avoided. Just make sure you’ve formatted everything before you put the more tag in, e.g. don’t put the more tag in and THEN bold all your text.

  Okay here i go again:

  I’ve put the “more” tag into many of the posts on my home page, and i like it better.

  only problem is every time i click on “read more” my browser has an error: “Out of Memory at line 1”

  it proceeds to the page after, but why is it doing this?

  Can someone try out one of the “read more” links and see if the problem is just within my browser or with the site?

  Nope, no problem for me. However, I had this problem before; it might have something to do with the SnapShots, because once I turned my SnapShots off, it never happened anymore. I’m not completely sure, but that’s my experience with the “out of memory at line 1” problem :)

  You can turn off SnapShots by going to Design ->Extras
