Absolute Noob, have some questions
-
GM, all,
I am a rank amateur with WordPress, and even “amateur” might be generous! I’d love some guidance if y’all don’t mind.
I am trying to create a website/blog. My hope is a static home page with an “About Me” section, a “why I created this website” section, a “follow blog by email” and a “search this website”. Room for a small picture of me would be nice.
I would like the posts to appear on a different page called posts (or something equally creative…LOL). The “posts” page should have a child page for archives (I’m being ambitious here that I’m going to need this!) I need a separate static page for a disclaimer. (I’m a nurse and need to disclaim that the site is giving medical information). I would also like a separate page for “non-nursing stuff”….recipes, golf, etc. This page should definitely not be prominent as the main focus is nursing stuff.I’m using “independent publisher2” because for now I want to keep it very simple and clean without a fancy background.
I *think* I have it set up correctly, but how do I know if any posts will go to the posts page? Also, I’m having a bit of trouble with pictures having a lot of white frame around them. It blends into the background so that is ok, but the pictures are smaller than I want. FWIW, I created the image I’d like to use using Apple pages so I could lighten the primary image and then put text over the picture. In Pages or Preview, they show as full-sized on the whole page with no border, but they don’t publish that way.
Thanks in advance!!!

I’m not sure why it said Pinehurst Invitational…..the blog is actually anurseinthehouse.com. (Maybe it’s at wordpress.com?)

If you are logged in to the correct account connected to anurseinthehouse.com (which is currently set to private) then as that site has a paid upgrade when you access the dashboard you should be able to get staff assistance by clicking the blue “?” bottom right.
