Abuot Ubud's Layout

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello! I have recently purchased Ubud for my theme layout of my site: carriesolaikatravel
I am having trouble to have the grid layout I wanted (as show as one example of the theme) just many square images across the page for each “project” post.

Can you let me know how?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

    Best,
    Carrie

By the way, I did try to change to “grid” of three columns from “list” on the top right hand corner. Cheers!

    Hi there!

We have some information about setting up Ubud here:

    https://wordpress.com/themes/ubud/support/

It looks like the Grid is working correctly. You can see your first post underneath your Header, Title, Tagline, and Intro. You only have one post, so there is only one square.

We do recommend a header size of 300 × 100 pixels. Your image is 5184 × 2916 pixels.

Let me know if I can help further!

    Hi! :)

Thanks so much for your answer. I am still having trouble even after trying to post another post with attached “features image”.

I do not want text to appear on the front page. Based on the preview I saw, it is possible to have only grid of images on the front page?

    Many thanks!

    Best,
    Carrie

Perfect! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Thank you. Any question I have…

    2) am trying to create three additional pages that can be linked to the homepage (homepage, I want a features image and the About text).

    2) The three pages created are Strolling, Dwelling and Walking Through. I want them to show no header from the home page (but just it’s own features image), is that possible?

Or anyway I should do to achieve the same effect?

Many thanks for your help again!

    Best,
    Carrie

Another thing I would like to do is to have posting (displays as grid) below it’s associate features image for the three different pages.

    Thank you!

With the Ubud theme, the header image is shown on every page, even if it has a Featured Image set. You can hide the header image on certain pages using Custom CSS if you purchase the Custom Design upgrade.

Another thing I would like to do is to have posting (displays as grid) below it’s associate features image for the three different pages.

I’m not sure I know what you mean. Do you want the three pages you created (Strolling, Dwelling, and Walking Through) to appear in the grid? What exactly would you like to appear below the featured image?

Sorry for being not too clear. Here is what i would like to achieve:

    Front page:
A feature Image with grids below showing latest posts

Individual page of “Strolling”, “Dwelling”, “Walking Through”:
    Their own seperate feature image
Grids of new posts associate to them.

Let me know also if other templates would be more appropriate to what I would like to achieve. Think of 30 days to exchange for another template?

    Many thanks!

    Best,
    Carrie

Okay! Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like you want to create Category Pages. You can see an example of a Category Page in the demo site here:

    http://ubuddemo.wordpress.com/category/random/

To create your Category Pages, go to Posts > Categories and add your desired categories. Then head back to Appearance > Menus and select Categories from the left side. Check the boxes next to the Categories you’ve created and add them to your menu.

In order to sort a post into one of the categories, just add that category to the post and publish or save your changes.

Let me know if you have further questions about that!
