Academica: edit image size/crop in Featured Posts Gallery widget
-
Hi,
In the Academica theme, I would like to take take control of the featured image displayed in the Featured Posts Gallery widget.
Is it possible to change its size & crop the image, or to edit the size of the window in which it is displayed within the widget?
I have this widget displayed on both the home page and subsequent pages. On the home page, it is currently in two different sidebars. Would the CSS code apply to all of these at once?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi, the theme software crops, sizes and creates the featured images off of your original uploaded image and to control crop, it would require changes to the theme php script files, which we cannot do at WordPress.com. The theme center crops the images, so when preparing images, you can keep that in mind so that the most important part is in the center. I know that is nearly impossible with book cover images.
You can gain a bit of size on the images with the following CSS.
.column-content .academica-featured-posts-gallery img { max-width: 100%; }If we try to take them any larger, they will lose quality since we are asking the browser to enlarge them, and they don’t do a very good job on that.
