Academica Theme :: How to Remove Space Under Header
-
I just switched to the Academica theme. However, the home page creates an unwanted space between the header image and the text beneath it which is not replicated in the other pages, which tells me it’s not resulting from the image size, but the formatting of the homepage. See this video:

Can anyone advise how to resolve?

Hi there,
I’ve opened a bug report for this; however, I’m not certain if it’s a bug, or just the way the theme is meant to display. I’ll keep you posted on what I hear back.
If you had the Custom Design upgrade, you could narrow that space using CSS:

Hi there,
This is intentional, as Academica is intended to be used with a static front page that would have a page title where that space is. You could reduce the space using CSS if you’re interested in that upgrade.
Let me know if you have further questions!

eurello,
Thanks for attending to my inquiry. Now I understand how the theme is supposed to be used, what I need to know is this: <i>Can I move my “blog” to another page and create a new, static home page while allowing for my blog page to stream my posts?</i>
Please let me know if that is possible, or whether the only resolution involves upgrading.

Hi there,
Nope, you can do that! You just need to go to Settings->Reading here and choose a static front page and a posts page:

Front PageLet me know how that works!
