Academica Theme Missing Custom Header on Front Page
-
Hi all,
I recently mapped my domain onto my wordpress site and the custom header on my front page disappeared. It had worked fine before I mapped and it still shows up on all other pages, just not the front page.
I saw that a missing header image was an issue before for this theme (Academica) but those bugs had supposedly been worked out and those forum posts are marked as resolved.
Does anyone know if this is something that can be fixed via CSS? I’m not terribly familiar with coding but I can certainly copy and paste. :)

Hi!
It looks like your header image is now appearing at the top of your homepage as shown here:
Can you confirm it’s working on your side?

hi there
yes i was able to get it back up. it’s disappearance had something to do with “Featured Content” tagging and a Featured Content Image. I essentially removed the Featured tag and that solved the problem.
It seems that when things are marked as Featured they sort of take over where the header would be? Only thing is that the featured post didn’t even appear in that spot.
Is this a bug in the theme? Or just a case of poor user interfacing/inherent clunkiness of how the theme works? just curious so that I know how to proceed in the future (re: featured tags).
thanks so much! :)

Ah – thanks for clarifying! The Academica theme does have a featured content slider that replaces the header image on the homepage when a tag is setup under Appearance -> Theme Options. However, in order for a post to appear there, you’ll want to have a featured image set that is 960×300. You can see a demo of how this would look here:

Can you give that a try?
