Accepted file types in a .zip upload?

    I currently have the free version of wordpress, and I cannot upload a .zip archive. However, I read on the webpage: ‘With the purchase of the WordPress.com Personal, Premium or Business plan, you are also permitted to upload: […] .zip (Archive File Format)’

    This .zip archive, could that contain files that are not possible to upload directly, such as .exe, .rtf, .xml, and .txt files?

    Hi,

    You shouldn’t have any trouble including those filetypes in a zip archive.

    I will mention the caveat that anything uploaded to WordPress.com needs to follow our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. So if someone was using a zip archive to distribute (for example) pirated software or movies, that wouldn’t work out well.

    Not assuming that you would be doing that, but it’s worth mentioning to save us all some hassle.
