At a prompting on my website admin, I recently contacted WordPress and, with the help of an assistant, I up-dated’ to a current version of ‘something’ ( sorry: not great with the tech jargon ). I think the assistant mentioned that, occasionally, a problem might ensue and now, when I try to access my website admin and the website itself, I get a ‘Critical Error’ message. Advice please.

  • Good Morning –

Unfortunately, I am not able to provide much help. Y’all are set up on a stand alone WordPress installation. What we do here at WordPress.com is offer a managed hosting environment. Which, might be a better solution for your experience level and project.

At WordPress.com our team handles every behind the scenes detail that needs 24/7 monitoring. These are things like updates, security, spam protection, ssl, seo, top notch hosting specs, mobile optimization, and more. With the way that you’re currently set up, you are responsible for all of those things – which means you have less time to focus on the content of your project.

Your domain does not have an SSL certificate which is a security measure included on WordPress.com.

Our hosting plans, features, and prices are available on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and I can answer any questions you have about getting your current project moved over so we can help you.
