  I have a number of sites – e.g. Laurie Barber’s Rome, created on WordPress.com. Now I can’t access my original site profile. The one I can access says I have not created any sites as yet – not true. This one flips me into a site (with the right two emails) that is basically blank in terms of older creations.

  How do I find / get back to my original profile with the many sites I have created over the years?

  I can find nothing in wordpress.com that actually let’s me talk to a real person from WordPress. Maybe it’s me…. Very frustrating!

  Hi Laurence,

  Can you tell me the domain/URL of the site you’re trying to access? We have no way of finding a specific site based on a site title like “Laurie Barber’s Rome”, as site titles are not unique and doesn’t tell a browser where on the web to go look for the server the site is on the way a domain does.

  The ljbarber48060917 username account you’re using to post here was created in September 2017, but has never created/owned any sites. In fact, it looks like the last time anyone logged into this account was over a year ago, and again no access for an entire year before that.

  Thanks so much for writing back so promptly.

  Actually, I figured it out myself. My entrance to these ‘older’ sites was via an old user name (Laurie Barber @ljbarber48) of some years ago – with access also via my old email: (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  When I used it / them, I was able to get a new password and then gain entrance to my original account all of the sites I’d developed some time ago.

  Don’t get old. One forgets a number of things…. :-)

  Not a bother at all, Laurence. Our work is to help people. And we’re all getting old — it’s better than the alternative!

  I’m glad you were able to get in. If you want to transfer these to your new account, or just add your new account to those sites so you can access from both, that’s totally doable.

  Here’s how to add the other username. I’d add as an administrator since you’re the same person:

  Or, here’s how to totally change ownership:

  If you want to swap email addresses too, that’s doable (albeit a bit trickier, but we can help you through.)
