Access site w/out email that was used to access it before?

    I would like to access the files from my old site to use for a new site I am developing. My site terrascapes.org was taken by someone else and I cannot access it b/c it was using my old email w/terrascapes.org – how do I access my wordpress account so I can use the information from terrascapes.org for a new website?

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

    We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.

    When you say “taken by someone else” do you mean your domain was purchased by someone else or someone hacked your entire website and took it over from you?

    If it’s just the domain, you should be able to contact your hosting provider and they should be able to change your hosting to use a temporary domain or a new domain of your choosing in order for you to access your site. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you with this issue.
