access to account
-
I cannot check any of the three boxes on the ‘Account Recovery’ form, but I can prove this blog is mine, but WordPress won’t let me! My e-address when the site was first set up was (email visible only to moderators and staff) but that address has been dead for a long time. My full name and street address appear on the opening page of the site, and I will happily send a photo of my drivers license to verify my identity. Also on the home page (and on many other pages of the site) there are ‘Email me’ buttons. If you click one of these you’ll activate an email to my current address, (email visible only to moderators and staff), and emailing me there is another verification of my identity. I will happily jump through any other hoops WordPress proposes, and pay a fee or upgrade to a paid service, if required, to get access to my website/blog. Please help!!
The site I need help with is manontroppomusic.wordpress.com/. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

We cannot accept publicly published material as proof of account ownership. Additionally the email address associated with the site
manontroppomusic.wordpress.comis neither address you’ve provided in your reply. The account in question had transactions in 2016, so if you have the bank or PayPal statements from that time, you should be able to find a charge related to
WPCHRG.COMand a corresponding transaction ID.Then, you can use the Account Recovery form to prove ownership of the site using that transaction ID, then WordPress.com support can help you from there. You can find that form here:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
Just fill out as much information as you have including an email address where Support can get in touch.
We cannot help with account recovery issues on the public support forums, but you can read more about what the account recovery process entails here:

PayPal online provides no record of activity prior to January 2020. The only other conceivable e-address is (email visible only to moderators and staff) . The “account recovery” process provides NO alternative that I can see when none of the three check-boxes applies. What else can I offer?!

Hi there,
The gmail address you just mentioned is the address connected to the account. Do you still have access to that address?

Awesome! Looks like you were able to regain access to the account as you are posting in this thread from it. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Yes, miraculously I can now access my site and edit it. Can you help me with one question: on each of my pages there’s a column labeled PAGES which is a list of clickable links to navigate around the site. At the bottom of the column is a widget, about Beethoven’s 250th Birthday. How do I get to that column to edit it, specifically to remove the widget? TIA for help!
