Access to Account

    Hello,
I have two websites and our website developer is no longer communicating with me and won’t send me access to our websites and they changed the user and password to our WordPress accounts during a project. I have requested the log in information several times and they have not sent it. I am wondering if there is any way I can get access to those sites or if I need to get an attorney involved.

    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Howdy –

I’m sorry y’all are dealing with this. It sounds terribly frustrating. Let’s start by looking at the sites to see what options are available. Can you share the URLs here?

  • Thanks! Neither of those websites are registered or hosted here with us on WordPress.com – it looks like they’re both using the free WordPress software which comes from WordPress.org instead. What that means for us is that it isn’t connected to our systems unfortunately, which limits what we can suggest.

Per the public information for both domains, it looks like they’re both registered via Domain.com, and it looks like the sites are hosted with Network Solutions, LLC (though I could be wrong!) – do you have access to the hosting platform? If so, then theoretically you could log in there and update your credentials in the site databases; though as they’re not hosted with us that isn’t something we can provide accurate step-by-step instructions for!

While the WordPress software in itself is free, it does have a community of site owners who may also have good suggestions for helping you get access to the site; there is a community forum there too:
