Access to all aspects of Settings menus?
-
Having problems uploading images to my blog and have been trying to work through the help documentation. It appears that there are other “Media” settings that are available that can be customized. I’m not seeing any ability from my dashboard to find that settings submenu. Same goes for trying to access a settings page that allows me to set the relevant time zone.
Not sure whether the media settings are really my image uploading problem/solution or not, but I can’t troubleshoot that as a possible solution without being able to access the “media” settings submenu. Perhaps I’m missing some administrative settings page?

Same goes for trying to access a settings page that allows me to set the relevant time zone.
To confirm your timezone is correct know the default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General. Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click “save changes”.

That’s excellent – very helpful. Apologies for the basic question, but I don’t think I’ve been able to access the “admin” page before. I can get to the dashboard, but the admin page has a lot more functionality in it. How do I access it directly? Your link got me there directly, but I can’t seem to figure out how to navigate there when I log into my wordpress account to manage my page.

re: reaching your dashboard
The Admin login link for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:

Bookmark that link to your dashboard please.

Tried without success. Oddly, some images that I had previously uploaded to my media library (not all) now show as broken links as well. I haven’t changed any settings, so not sure what has changed. I’ve tried to reduce file sizes, expand media settings, clear the cache, use a different browser, update flash, etc. Will have a fresh look tomorrow.

Don’t understand what changed or what happened, but the images are accessible now and I was able to insert them into a post. Guess it works again but very puzzled what happened and what changed to resolve the issue. Thanks for your help.

I don’t have a clue what caused that at all. Let’s hope it does not happen again. If it does post into this thread and type modlook into the sidebar tags for Staff help.
