This was a free account from more than a decade ago. i have tried my 2 emailIds from that time that are still active but none of them work.
I suspect that the account is associated to (email visible only to moderators and staff) which is an old email id of mine and no longer active. if you can help me transfer this domain to any of the current email id, i would really appreciate that!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello, @ddrambhia! Thanks for letting us know about this.

If you’d like to recover access to a site that’s linked to another account, you’ll need to complete our account recovery process by following the steps in this guide:

    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#verify-your-account-ownership

If you don’t have the necessary documentation to verify ownership of the account, the only other option would be to request that we make the site private so it’s no longer accessible to the public, if you prefer.

Also, since this is a public forum, please be sure to avoid sharing any sensitive information here for security reasons.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any extra help, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Can you really make it private? i would love to just get the ownership. I have tried the verify-your-account-ownership section but i dont have any of those details. and the email id that i suspect is registered, is no longer live. so i guess if privatization is the only way and I am fine with that. Can i then associate it with my current account?

    Hi @ddrambhia

To confirm, if you cannot provide any of the following information from the account recovery process, we won’t be able to transfer ownership, but we can set the site to Private so it’s no longer visible to the public:

    • Transaction ID from a purchase made on the account
    • Activation URL or key
    • Two-step authentication codes

You can read more about these ownership verification options here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#verify-your-account-ownership

Once the site is private, it won’t appear in search engines or be accessible to visitors.

Transferring a site to another account is not possible without recovering the account associated with the site.

    Hi @ddrambhia

The transfer of ownership for sites can only be performed by the site owner. Since the site is associated with another account you cannot access right now, it’s not possible for you to do the transfer: https://wordpress.com/support/transfer-a-site/
