Access to DNS settings

    Hello,
I’m trying to domain map but I seem to have some issues with the DNS settings. When I try to go through my website’s dashboard (Store > My Domains, Edit DNS) I am unable to edit the CNAME as when I hover over it there’s no pencil icon that allows me to edit.
If I try to go through WordPress.com (My Sites > Upgrades > My Domains) the edit button doesn’t even work to allow me access into the domain settings.

    Help :(

Are you trying to point your nameservers to squarespace or transfer domain registration? Do these support docs help you?

Squarespace doesn’t take transfers so I have to do domain mapping. I was following the steps listed on http://help.squarespace.com/guides/domain-mapping-with-wordpress but I am unable to change the CNAME settings. It just says “Handled by WordPress.com” and doesn’t give me any options to edit the settings.

DNS settings aren’t only a premium thing are they? I had premium but I let it expire since I was planning on moving.
All Squarespace had to say was that I should try transferring my domain to another host but that would be unfortunate as my domain was recently renewed and then I’ll also have to deal with the issue of making sure the custom e-mail still works correctly.

Thanks for the added info for Staff. It’s a holiday so please be patient while waiting for them to respond.

    Hi Andy,

I went ahead and added the DNS entries which I was able to for your account, HOWEVER there was one which I could not do. There is a unique code that SquareSpace provides you within your account which is used to verify your identity. You will need to enter that yourself.

I have already created the DNS entry for that code, you just need to edit it and then save everything. Follow the same directions that SquareSpace gave and find the DNS entry marked “yourcodehere.grinningtiger.com”. Edit that DNS entry and replace the “yourcodehere” part with the unique code that SquareSpace gave you. Once you do so, click save and you will be good to go!

Let me know if you run in to any troubles.
