Access to php (?) editor (?)

    My blog designer has said he needs to access the Editor option that, he says, allows a developer to get into the PHP files. Is this in fact possible with the wordpress.com service? Is this the “Custom Design” feature?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Howdy,

    On WordPress.com, we don’t open access to any of the PHP code for security and stability purposes. (Not to mention that everyone shares the same codebase, so any changes made by your designer would change everyone else’s site with the same theme!).

    With the Custom Design upgrade, you have full access to add custom CSS code to modify the design of your theme.

    If access to the code is critical, migrating your site over to a WordPress.org-hosted one would be the way to go. We have a bit more about the difference at WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
