  Do you have to have a wordpress username to access a private blog……
  I would like my students to have access…none of them are bloggers.

  Yes, you have to have a username, but you don’t have to have a blog.

  Is this the only way I can share this private blog…………… I’m not sure my students want to ‘register’ a username….. not sure I have the ‘right’ to ask this of them……….. hmmmm. any ideas?

  A possibility is to set the blog to block search engines and any listings around WordPress but allow public access. Then only people with the url are likely to find it.

  That’s a clever workaround if you’re comfortable with less than 100% privacy.

  Otherwise, how is WordPress to restrict the people who can read your blog? If they don’t “exist” within WordPress.com, WP.com can hardly tell who they are.
