Access to wordpress blog stopped because domain expired. Access after cancelling

I run 3 blogs on WordPress.com. For one of my blogs,dramasanddreams.com, the domain has expired 20 days ago. I could not renew in time as I was travelling. However now as the late fee is beyond my capacity, I want to cancel that domain. However I want to be sure that my blog will be accessible through the URL dramasanddreams.wordpress.com even though I cancel my domain? I have lots of content on it and I cannot afford to lose it.
Can you please help me out with 2 questions: after I cancel my domain, will I hv access through the wordpress.com URL? Is there a way I can avoid late fee if I want to renew my domain now?

Hi there,
Yes, you will always have access to your blog via your blog name (so [dramasanddreams.wordpress.com]). You can remove your domain name at any time, or if you are unable to, just let me know and I can do it for you.
And unfortunately the domain name redemption fee is charged by the registry so it isn’t a fee which we can waive. I’m sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you so much for the response. Yes I am having problem cancelling my domain. Could you help me? It says a confirmation link is sent on my email but there is no such mail.
One more thing: Whenever I type dramasanddreams.wordpress.com, it redirects automatically to dramasanddreams.com . Will this change after I cancel?
