Access to WordPress blogs

I am hopping mad this morning – I uploaded a new blog post yesterday and this morning I am told THIS on Facebook:
‘Lynda Farley Not logging INTO account to see stuff
    Delete or hide this
    Like
    · Reply · 7h

Ricka Smith I can’t get to your blog without a WordPress account …’
When did this start and does it affect all three of my blogs???? WHEN AND WHY WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME? Could this be why my readership is so poor in spite of sharing links to my 2,000 Facebook friends???

I see that ‘contact us’ does not mean contact you and that this will be shared in Forums – maybe there are other people that will be as shocked as I was to receive those messages this morning!

What is the URL of your site running on the wordpress.com platform?

  • Hi there @itsthatwoman!

It would be great if you could ask those users for more information, ideally a screenshot of what they see.
All your sites are public and can be accessed by anyone – you can test it yourself. Log out from your WordPress.com account and try to load itsthatwomanagain.wordpress.com. You shouldn’t have any issues.

I do not know if this is something that is affecting smart phones. I do not know if I can copy and paste a screen here that was shared with me on Facebook. *I* cannot take a screen shot of what THEY see, but they have shared with me. These are phone users and the link does not go directly to my blog, it goes to a page which has an instruction in bold caps LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT and then in VERY tiny font below that saying “or visit itsthatwomanagain” – this was noticed by one person, but by nobody else until it was brought to their asttention. I was sent a screen shot.

  • Would you please use https://snipboard.io/ to share that screenshot?

  • The screen shot can be shared with us here by using https://snipboard.io/. You’ll add the screen shot to that site, then copy + paste the URL and paste it in the reply for us here. Then when we click on that link we can see the screen shots.

Another option would be to add that screen shot directly to the site’s media library where we can also view it.

Since we aren’t 100% clear on the message the screen shot is going to help us.
