Access to WordPress.com/me page
-
Hello,
I have a website that was setup by a former business partner that I no longer am able to get in contact with. He setup our WordPress site, and purchased the hosting subscription. At this time, I don’t have access to the login and he apparently didn’t use his work email (any variation, I have tried them all). I would like to gain access so I can managed subscriptions, etc. Is there any way I can confirm ownership of the site with WordPress without going through the process of migrating the site and paying another Contributor subscription? Additionally, if I do need to migrate the site, can I do that without having access to the wordpress.com/me site if I have full admin access to the wp-admin?
Thank you!Self-declared URL: vosstera.io

@tvossbd32652095 – To avoid any confusion, it’s important to distinguish between three different versions of “WordPress”:
- The free, open-source WordPress software that powers your website.
- WordPress.org, the open-source project where you can obtain the software for free to use on your chosen hosting provider.
- WordPress.com, a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software, which is the platform you are currently contacting.
Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.
I recommend reaching out to your host for help with this issue. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you find and fix this problem. If you’re not sure who is your hosting provider, you can use a website like Hosting Checker to look up that information. https://hostingchecker.com/
I hope that clarifies things!
