Access to wordpress from China

Hi everybody,
The company I work for is located in China. I was recently asked to find a reliable CMS solution for the corporate website that focuses on western clients. I was wondering if any of you could provide some feedback regarding the use of WordPress as a CMS for a website managed from China (hosted in the U.S).

Hi, ‘m in china and looking at this myself at the moment.
While the wordpress.com domain itself is working, a lot of the content distribution sites are blocked preventing pages loading normally/completely.Tips for general note:
– gravatar.com is blocked so turn off the avatars (and even then there may be a couple of references)
– make sure there isn’t a facebook counter
– make sure your theme doesn’t reference fonts.googleapis.com
– don’t use anything google including analytics etc as this will stop pages loading
– unfortunately wordpress.com CDN network (s0.wp.com, s1.wp.com etc) for distributing static files also seems to be blocked, and that might be more difficult to turn off, so we need wordpress.com on this…
I see the WordPress.com support site advises users to use a VPN

but it isn’t practical to advise 500million potential users that they need to turn on a VPN before accessing the website, and the VPNs themselves are increasingly blocked.In the case of your site, it hangs indefinitely on maps.googleapis.com as well as minutes for other files. I can’t attach a screenshot here but here is some info on the traffic:
