accessibility

When I just now registered my domain I received a message from wordpress that said there is a problem with my site’s accessibility. How do I take care of that?

Hi annalizemouton,
I’m not familiar with that message. Do you have an example for where it’s showing up, or can you capture a screenshot of it for me (and upload it to your media library)?
The one place that I’m aware that we mention accessibility is in your Widgets area. If you go to Appearance > Widgets and click on Screen Options at the top of the page, you can Enable or Disable accessibility mode, which changes how you edit a widget.

Hi Jackiedana
Thank you for responding. It was after I bought the domain today that a box in red came on the screen and said: It seems that there is a problem with the accessibility (it could also have been inaccessibility) of your site. Then it said something about changing the DNS or go to support. I have unfortunately not captured a screenshot of it. In the past when I have posted a link to the blog on facebook, it said it was spam. After I purchased the domain today, it seems that problem is solved. I will check the widgets. Thank you once again.

Hi again,
Hmm, not sure what the message was, unless it was telling you to complete the domain registration process. It looks like your domain has been properly registered and set up on our end, however, so I think you’re okay. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for a new domain to propagate across the internet so everyone can see it, so you may experience some downtime as that process completes. After that time, if you run into any problems with your site or domain, just let me know.

Thank you so much for your help, Jackiedana! Let’s hope everything is fixed now. I have enabled the accessibility widget. Do you think it is preferable or is it better to disable it. What precisely is the benefit of it?

I’m not sure if the Accessibility option is even related to your issue – it’s just the only thing that I could think of that was related to accessibility that’s come up recently. The option is there to help people who can’t use the regular Widget functionality. You may not want to enable it – it’s a personal preference.
