Accessibility for blind and visually impaired

  Hello guys,

  I have some visually impaired visitors on my blog. They claim about accessibilty. Honestly, WordPress is HELL for people which are forced to use a Braille reader. Just switch of CSS and see the lots of scrap on your screen.

  Is that really state of the art? Why can’t (or doesn’t) wordpress.com offer really accessible themes for WordPress?

  WordPress.com does recommend the Twenty Fourteen Theme for accessibility.:

  Yes, and they have a workgroup or whatever called the “Accessibility team”

  I’m using the Bosco theme, which is called to be “accessibilty-ready”. So a created a sample blog with Twentyfourteen. There is no real difference between the output of Bosco and Twentyfourteen.

  The following is what you get, when you disable stylsheets in Firefox. What the heck ist this? It containts only two lines of content:
  HEADLINE and CONTENT

  This is not accessible, for shure. Not funny :-/

  One of the worst things is the comment function. For blind people it is nearly impossible to write comments. And you will agree, comments are very important for a blog.
