Accessibility issues?
-
Contact form is not visible to assistive Technologies such as screen readers. My husband is sighted, and he says it is there. I am blind and I use a program called JAWS, and JAWS does not see it anywhere!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi leahseabury,
When you say the contact form is not visible, do you mean the process to create the form, or an existing form that a user is trying to fill out?
If you can be more descriptive of where JAWS is stumbling, and if you have any suggestions for how we could make it more accessible, I’d be more than happy to pass your input along to our developers.

I could create the form okay okay after I turn on Iframes. The issue is that I cannot use a screen reader to fill out the form at all. I do not know if there is an html code or something. The best thing I can compare it to is this box that we type in right now. This box JAWS sees, so I can type, but the Contact form is not visible to me at all. There is no link, button, or field that it sees. I am not sure if this has answered the question.

Hi again,
I’ve done some preliminary testing and it looks like our contact forms have proper labels and are showing up in screen readers, generally speaking. Can you send me the link to a page with a contact form that is not appearing correctly, so I can test for that?

Hi there,
There currently is no contact form on that page.
To learn how to set up a contact form, please refer to the following documentation:

If you are blind and want to add a contact form to your blog, do not use Internet explorer even with Iframes enabled it failed. I had a wild hair and I tried adding contact form with fire fox, and it worked as well as Screen Readers can read it!
