Accessibility issues if I upgrade my blog address
-
Hi WordPress. If I upgrade my blog site, so as to drop ‘wordpress’ out of my address, will my subscribers still be able to receive my blog post? Also, if someone clicks on an older link that still has the old ‘wordpress’ address, will he or she still be able to open the link after upgrading?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you purchase and upgrade to your account (i.e. to change shortfilmfan.wordpress.com to shortfilmfan.com), people accessing the longer WordPress.com site will be redirected to the new shorter domain. Also, all your followers and subscribers will be maintained. Upgrading your plan on WordPress.com simply allows you to cover your site with a pretty domain. The site underneath remains the same, just that nobody can see the WordPress.com domain name now.
You can read more about registering a domain here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/

Hi again. Just one more question. I just want to make sure that all of my previous posts will also still be be accessible after the upgrade. Will all of my older posts still be visible?

Hello,
Yes, all your posts, drafts, and comments will be available even after the upgrade.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hello,
If you run into any issues after the upgrade, you can always contact the support team for help.
You can also create a backup of your posts and pages, just to be 110% sure.
Thanks!
