Accessing a decade old inactive site
-
My company has a website that is 11 years old that was created by a now retired employee. We have absolutely no information on how the site was created and no access to the original email address as the domain no longer exists. I would like to have this site switched to private as this was listed as an option on the account recovery page, however you still need to login to do this which defeats the purpose. Their chatbot is obviously no help. Is there any course of action I can take or will this site just be live forever?

First things first: what is the url of that site?
You must realise wordpress.com just won’t gove you access on demand

I never said I wanted access to the site as I realize this is likely impossible, just to have the site changed to private as the info on it is very outdated and inaccurate. We have the URL.
