Accessing a full blog from the reader (iOS app)
-
Hi. I use the Reader on the iOS app to read recent posts from blogs I follow but sometimes I would then like to visit the sites of those blogs to catch up on posts I may have missed. Similarly, I would like people to be able to visit my site having read my posts on their reader stream. The reader provides no direct link to the full blog site, only the post. I’m sure older versions of the reader allowed me to click on the blog gravitars to do this. I have two questions:
– Is there an easier way of accessing the full blog sites of those you follow through the reader, or do I have to go back to my own site dashboard find the links?
– Do clicks on your posts in someone’s reader count towards your site traffic? If not, doesn’t this skew your traffic stats?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1) not via the reader there isn’t. I agree it’s a bit tedious, having just tried it today.
2) no, they don’t, and not if you define traffic as “traffic coming to the website” which is how wordpress.com defines it. Counting reader stats is such a convoluted and confusing business, that WP.com opted out of that completely.

Thanks.
All very frustrating. I’m sure you used to be able to access blogs via links in the Reader entries. It stops fellow users from exploring blogs and you get a distorted view of your site stats if it doesn’t count views from the Reader. I’d expect it to count views if “continue reading” has been clicked, surely!?
