Accessing an old website/blog

Hi,
I am trying to get access to a specific blog/website about an archaeological project to update it for the first time in 5 years. The website was created in 2014 but while the site is still live and readable no one associated with the project seems to able to see it through their WordPress accounts including the old webmaster. Just trying to find out if it’s possible to get access to the site OR how to de-register it so we can make a new one.

Howdy –
Nothing can be done with out access to the account owning that site. What we can do is send an email from our end to the owner. Of course, we can give away any of the account details, but perhaps it will find someone. If so, they can transfer ownership to someone actively involved in the process.

Yes please! We’ve been trying to figure out who’s email it’s linked to the its neither the project director or the person listed as the webmaster on the website.

The situation is correct. I am the webmaster and can login to the site.
But then I cannot acces the site, only my own personal site. I will be
happy to transfer ownership of the site to Rachelamun who sent the cry
for help.Will this do?

I emailed you in regards to how to transfer the site. The account you are contacting us from in this thread is different than the one that connected to the email you replied to us from – which is why you cannot access the site. Let me know if you get my reply.
