Accessing Appearance Editor

How do I access ‘appearance editor’ in order to remove side bar functions (‘search’ and ‘meta’) which are hardcoded into my theme? ‘Appearance -> editor’ does not appear in my dashboard and I am therefore unable to remove these sidebar functions. NOTE: I have already attempted to remove these sidebars using the ‘Appearance -> widgets’ page. Though I remove the widgets on this page, they remain on my site.

    Hi there!

You seem to have a number of sites under your user account – can you let me know what site you need assistance with? Once I have that information, I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for clarifying!

To remove the sidebar from a page in the Misty Lake theme, you need to assign the full-page template in the Page Editor. Under the “Page Attributes” widget, there will be a drop down menu with “Template” options – the default is a page with a sidebar and the other choice is the full page template that does not have a sidebar.

Once you change the template, just click “update” and your page will switch to the new template.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you’re still having trouble and I’ll be happy to help.
