Accessing/Deleting an old website/blog
-
Hi,
I previously posted about this question which has been closed but now I have a follow up.
I am trying to get access/delete a specific blog/website about an archaeological project. The website was created in 2014 but while the site is still live and the previous webmaster is not able to access it through her WordPress account. In my previous thread an email was sent to the site owner from WordPress. The previous webmaster received this email however it seems she has 2 WordPress accounts linked to that email and can only access one (not the one we need).
An email was sent with instructions on how to transfer but she’s deleted it, I’m wondering if I can get that email resent or how to start the process of recovering her account. The issue is that she might not have any of the necessary verification information.
The previous thread is here:

She’ll be able to still transfer it following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

Hi,
Had the webmaster try this and whenever she does it says she is not the administrator of the site so she cannot do anything. All of the emails for the site come to her but whenever she goes to the ap-admin dashboard she can’t access it as an admin. I think what’s happened is she has separate accounts but both linked to the same email.

Have you visited the site to see if any authors names/usernames are visible. I see https://wordpress.com/forums/users/mudayna12/ Perhaps that is who created the site?

It sounds like the person is logging in as the wrong username. It’s not possible for separate accounts to be linked to the same email, though.
If she’s not able to get into the right account, ask her to please complete the account recovery form as explained at the link @themagicrobot provided above.
