Accessing files
-
While looking over my stats I noticed that I’ve recently been getting a lot of clicks on the photograph files (example: bogsofohio.files.wordpress.com/2010/….). This was happening frequently on my other blog (http://bountifulhealing.wordpress.com) which I’ve made private for now in order to resize and add watermarks to the photos that don’t have them.
Is it possible to find out who is looking at these files? I didn’t realize the general public would be able to access my photos files this way and now have to go in and resize, etc.
Also: I published a post at http://bountifulhealing.wordpress.com yesterday and just after I clicked on the “Publish” button I got a full-screen (poor quality) video (with music) of fireworks somewhere in China. Is it possible my blogs have been hacked? Or is there some issue with WordPress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks. That answers the first question.
Any info on the next two? I’ve scanned my computer for viruses and come up with nothing and having seen that someone else thinks their blog may have been hacked makes me wonder too.

1. How strong is your password?
2. Are you the only user of your computer?
3. Are you the only person with access to the Admin area of your blog or do you have other users registered?
4. Do you store your log-in information somewhere where others can access it?
5. Have you ever shared your log-in information with another person?
6. Have you used a word for a password that’s in any way associated with your blog about so others reading the blog may be able to guess what it is?Please see > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/

No idea ab out the second question. Do the cookie dance: log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer. Then try to make a new password: at least eight characters long.

2. Yes.
3. I’m the only user with access to the Admin area.
4. No.
5. No.
6. No.Thanks for responding and for the help. I think I’ll be moving from WordPress so that will settle things for me.

@robinanne
I wish you well on the move. I do want to clarify something however. I have been here for 4 years and during that time I have not been made aware pf a not a single claim that a wordpress.com blog has been “hacked” proved to be factual. The questions I posted are indicative of what Staff investigations demonstrated ie. what really happened. If you intend to have a wordpress.ORG free software install then do be aware that the primary reason those blog’s get hacked is because the bloggers fail to update to new secure versions when the notice to do so appear on their dashboard. The seconadry reason is because the bloggers who have wordpress.ORG installs choose to have “Admin” as a username for their log in and also to have weak passwords
Best wishes for happy blogging. :)
