Accessing my free wordpress blog site – turledge

  • Hello there,

Ideally, you’d need to try and recover the the email address so that you can successfully send a password reset email.

Failing that, if you’re able to retrieve the information required for account recovery https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form that would also help.

At best, we can follow this guidance is account recovery is not possible. https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#if-ownership-cannot-be-established

    Dear Support Folks

I am aware that your policy says:

“In the event that it isn’t possible to provide an email from the email address with which the blog was registered, a transaction ID, or the original activation link, access to the account cannot be granted for security purposes.”

    Please note:
    1. The email id used to set up my blog site turtledge.wordpress.com was (email visible only to moderators and staff). This was a business email address and is not operational as the business was closed down.
    2. As I used a free WordPress site, there was no payment and transaction ID for me to provide for any recovery.
    3. At the time of setting up my blog (as in 1 above), there was no two step identification and hence no mobile number was provided.

In the light of the above and my inability to answer any of the above for recovery my original blogs, what do I have to do?

It appears that I would have to start a new blog series and abandon the old one and that would be a pity given some 10 years of blogs that I have written.

Surely, an exception can be made by satisfying yourselves that my case is a genuine one.

    Please help.

    Thanks
    Cheenu Srinivasan

  • Hi Cheenu,

Unfortunately, if you aren’t able to provide an email from the email address with which the blog was registered we won’t be able to help you recover the account.

We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.

Thanks and I am at a dead end here!

Anyway, I started a new blog at turtlewedge.Wordpress.com but can’t see it as I get a link to start a new webpage!

  • If you didn’t already, you might also reach out to passwordhelp@wordpress.com so they can take a closer look at your account.

    Good luck!

I have as suggested emailed password help desk

    Dear WordPress Team

For over about 10 years, I have blogged with the free WordPress account at

    https://turtledge.wordpress.com

Regrettably, my login to Turtledge has been unsuccessful as the email id used to set up was with my business email id of (email visible only to moderators and staff)

As my business was closed in 2018 or so, the email id is no more operational.

Further, I had not established the two-stage verification with my mobile number at [redacted]. Nor do I have any activation number or payment given it was a free site.

Your support forums have only pointed me to standard account recovery that I cannot provide answers for any of the above questions.

    Can you help please?

    Thanks

    Cheenu Srinivasan

Please do not post your personal information in these public forums. I again have flagged for Staff to remove it from your above post.

Staff also provided you with the email address of the Account Recovery team. Kindly contact them directly.

  • Thanks @justjennifer (also, cool picture!)

Cheenu Srinivasan, I have redacted your phone number again because this is a public forum. We don’t want anyone calling you pretending to be us.

I can see you have reached out over email, so we’ll close this out. Best of luck!
