accessing photos from old posts

  hi!
  i’m very new and have started a photo blog with the theme ‘ideation and intent’. my problem now is that when ever i try to see the photos of an old post and click the photo on the side bar, only the post (text) is displayed and not the photos. I can’t seem to find a way to see old photos other than in thumbnail size on the side bar.
