Accessing 'store' in WP dashboard on self-hosted site!

My client has a WP site which is now self-hosted. and as a result, there is no ‘store’ in the dashboard. How does one manage their WP purchases without being able to access them? I’ve tried searching the forums over at wordpress.org but haven’t found anything that addresses this. Very confused at this point and appreciate your help!

  • These instructions should help your client manage their upgrades:

Well, rootjosh, turns out my client got ahold of the WP powers-that-be and took care of it – so that’s good! But I still don’t understand how to get there if your site is wordpress.org not .com – there is no “Me” section in the self-hosted WP dashboard. And in the WP.com dashboard, there is a “store” that handles account info. I know you have to maintain an account with wordpress.com in order to use things like jetpack – so maybe that’s the disconnect; maybe he forgot how to access his .com? Because nothing I could find shows up in the .org dashboard. Oy vey!

  • Right, you need to log into WordPress.com to do that. You cannot do it by logging into a self hosted WordPress.org site.

If they purchased an upgrade from WordPress.com, they have a WordPress.com user account. They need to log into http://wordpress.com and then go to https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/ as mentioned in the instructions I posted earlier.

Glad they got it all sorted out though!

Thanks! I think I knew that, but forgot. ;) All’s well that ends well.
